- Fruit rot, caused by Rhizoctonia solani a plant pathogenic fungus with a wide host range and worldwide distribution. One cause of the condition known as "damping off".
- Fruit rot or charcoal rot, caused by Macrophomina phaseolina a soilborne fungus, which can infect the roots and lower stem of over 500 species of plant.
