Fruit rot commonly refers to:

  • Fruit rot, caused by Rhizoctonia solani a plant pathogenic fungus with a wide host range and worldwide distribution. One cause of the condition known as "damping off".
  • Fruit rot or charcoal rot, caused by Macrophomina phaseolina a soilborne fungus, which can infect the roots and lower stem of over 500 species of plant.
  • Fruit rot or buckeye rot, a condition of tomatoes caused by the water-moulds Phytophthora capsici, Phytophthora drechsleri and Phytophthora parasitica.

Fruit rot may also refer to:

  • Choanephora fruit rot - a plant pathogen affecting cucurbits.
  • Pythium fruit rot - Caused by the Pythium genus of organisms which cause common crop diseases such as "pythium root rot" and in seedlings can cause "damping off".
