Main article: Beetroot

SowingEdit

Sow thinly in rows 30cm (12in) apart. Cover lightly with 2.5cm (1in) of fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist. For continuous crops, sow every 2-3 weeks.[1]

AftercareEdit

When large enough, thin if necessary, to 7.5cm (3in) apart. Keep moist and weed free.[1]

HarvestEdit

June-October when roots are up to 10cm (4in) long. Twist the tops off as this prevents 'bleeding'.[1]

StoringEdit

Store roots in sand in a cool frost-free place.
