Anya is a variety of potato that was bred at the Scottish Crop Research Institute and grown exclusively for Sainsbury's supermarkets by MBMG. Anya is a cross between the varieties Désirée and Pink Fir Apple, and it was named after Lady Sainsbury.
The Anya is a type of finger potato, usually of an oval shape. It is described as knobbly on the outside, but soft on the inside.
Delia Smith is a fan of the potatoes, as it was featured in her How To Cook Book 3.[3]
